We are not keen anglers but friends tell us that there is a lot of good fishing available and in particular there are opportunities to go out sea angling at St Malo and most of the other sea-side towns. I believe Erquy is good but have never tried myself.

There is also lake for fishing at La Forge ( a couple of minutes along the road towards Merdrignac) which also has a restaurant/bar.
You could also try searching for shell fish on the beaches and rock pools which is much more my style. Also at Jugon is a small angling museum with a very helpful guide who is a mine of local information for enthusiasts. I understand that underwater spear fishing is also available !

You can go out fishing at sea from a traditional Breton sailing boat called a bisquine at Cancale. Details from the mayors office on 99 89 77 87 and at le Vivier-sur-Mer you can take a ride on the curious amphibious craft that trundles out to visit the mussel and oyster beds.

In late June at St Quay Portrieux there is an international fishing competition with quayside sale of catches.
