There are a number of brochures at the house which are reasonably self-explanatory. Jugon les Lacs is about 12 minutes drive away and has a large lake which caters for most water sports and has a separate swimming pool open in the season.

There are also two lakes, one on the way to Merdrignac and the other in the town itself which have a variety of water sports and boating with smaller children entertainments and eating and drinking facilities for "bigger" children

The manager at Wind & Surf at Langueux is particularly helpful about the best venues and we have enclosed a tide table with the folder at the cottage. While not strictly water-sports there are opportunities now for hang-gliding and parascending.

The tourist information should have details and if any guest tries one of them then please tell us about it !

Canoeing is more my style and it is available on the lakes and is gradually being introduced on the rivers which makes it more of an adventure. There are boat excursions on the Rance and out to sea which should not be missed.

St Malo is probably the best base for this, you can even go to the Channel Islands for the day. At Cancale trips are offered in a beautiful many sailed bisquine, a faithful copy of a traditional Breton fishing boat. Tel: 99 89 77 87
